This is an old 1937 (or so) Dodge flatbed truck that is on the farm.

As you can see, it is pretty much abandoned. I'd like to save it, but realistically there's not a whole lot left. Too bad, it's got alot of family history to it. My great grandpa used it to haul tractors back and forth.

And an interesting note...the original flathead six cylinder engine and three speed transmission are still around, and owned by the family. And it still runs! The engine currently powers a sawmill that is located a mile from the truck.

Brother, that's got Rat Rod rusted all over it! :-) Great photo!

Rat Rod sounds like a good idea, but at this point, it's more like "Rot Rod". Most of the body is well rotted from sitting in weeds. It's still a dream of mine though!

I need to work on more photos of this. It's too interesting.

I'm no expert on Rat Rods, but it looks like there is enough to work with there. Do you have any profile photos of it? What year is it?

It's hard to get a profile shot (it's surrounded by more junk and trees) but I will go back to it eventually, and get some shots of the rust.

The funny thing is that it's not a pickup...it's a flatbed, and heavy duty, IIFC, 1 1/2 ton rating. Oh, it's a 1937 or so. I still love the idea of fixing it up.

Cool, a flatbed! Check these 3 flatbeds I shot: [link]

Nice trucks! I noticed that Plymouth locomotive...I've never seen one, despite the fact that they were made in a town within an hours drive of me! But I think I mentioned that in comments on your Silver King tractor illustration.
